The Brunch.London team had the opportunity to visit The Arch Hotel in Marylebone recently to sample the breakfast menu…

This discrete five-star boutique hotel occupies a row of elegant Georgian townhouses, just a few minutes walk from Marble Arch tube station. The stress levels of Oxford Street are immediately replaced by the calm of the lobby at The Arch Hotel in Great Cumberland Place.

A warm welcome awaits us in Hunter 486 restaurant and bar, which is the hub of hotel from breakfast, through afternoon tea, to cocktails and dinner in the evening.

We are here for breakfast, but not too early as they serve until 11am, which is handy for an impromptu weekend brunch or a mid-morning business meeting.

Freshly squeezed orange juice and strong coffee is served at our table and then we head off to sample the delights of the continental breakfast buffet. Smoked salmon, meats, salads and baskets of pastries all try to tempt us, but we need to take things easy and leave some room for our main dishes.

The English Breakfast Plate delivers all the essential ingredients - eggs, dry cured bacon, sausage, tomato, baked beans, Portobello mushroom and black pudding.

The Eggs Benedict is a delicious combination of runny poached eggs, with generous layers of smoked ham, topped with a tangy hollandaise sauce.

The staff are friendly and efficient throughout, our every need catered for, until we are pleasantly full and set up for the day ahead. No lunch for us today!

Breakfast is served from 6.30am to 11am (Mon-Fri), 7am to 11am (Sat-Sun)
